What to Expect at Your First Visit

Where will my treatment or bodywork session take place?
Your treatment session will take place in a warm, comfortable room on a BioMat heated table.

Must I be completely undressed?
The treatments in this office usually require the client to be unclothed. You will be properly draped at all times during the entire session.

Will the therapist be present when I disrobe?
No. The therapist will leave the room while you undress.

What will the treatment or bodywork feel like?
Lymphedema and Manual Lymphatic Therapy are very comforting treatments. Pressure on the skin is very light so as to move the lymphatic fluid through the body. Scar Therapy is light and focused at the scar site. It is rarely painful, even for new scars. The therapist will be fully present and possibly asking questions about your comfort and/or discussing how your body may respond to the treatment. Post treatment may offer increased energy, or the need for an afternoon nap.

Are there any medical conditions that would make the treatments or bodywork inadvisable?
Yes. You will complete a health questionnaire prior to your first visit. The therapist may ask questions concerning your health and reason for the visit. Depending on your health condition, approval from your doctor may be required.
